Delivery was awesome. It can be moved by one person once it is uncrated. Works fine.

I was nervous about delivery since it weighs a ton crated up. The delivery guys brought it in and put exactly where I needed it. The crate would not easily fit through the front door so we opted for the sliding glass door and it was a breeze.

Unboxing it was a little difficult by myself, but only took a few minutes. The boxing materials are a lot so be prepared for some way to store them until you can get rid of them. The delivery guys won't unbox it for you or take away those materials. I have a garden so the cardboard went right in there as weed prevention until they rot.

Getting the bottom feet/leg section on seemed a bit mysterious from the directions provided. Fired up Youtube and saw how it was done. It is pretty easy once you see how it works. The install video I picked was slightly different than my set up- just had to unscrew a couple of plastic covers- and set it in and reseat the top plastic covers.

The first time using it feels a little sketchy. Almost like it is going to trap you in the chair. Once you gain some experience with it, it is pretty nice. At least in my experience, don't overdo it the first day. It does a workout on your bod and you will feel it the next day if you do three sessions (20 min each) the first time out.

Once out of the box, it is pretty easy to move around with one person. It would not work for going up or down stairs but just moving it to position it differently is fairly easy.

For some reason, I expected it to be a comfy recliner when not in use. It is comfy in the seated position, but I don't think there is a way to just have it the raised position without actively using it. So, be aware this is not going to be your recliner to watch football.

Very pleased with it so far and was worth it on sale.

    Priced well and actually effective

Better than the ones in the mall and nail salons. I did not pay to deliver in the house, so we had it placed in our driveway. Comes to one big piece and one small piece. My wife and I were able to carry the chair upstairs without any difficulty.
The foot massage works great. The track rollers are great up and down the back and shoulders. The only hiccup I personally ran into is when doing lower back and waist, the rollers can be a bit much on the bone portion of the waist. This can be solved by making manual adjustments to avoid it. I highly recommend you learn all the ways you can use the remote and you can tailor the perfect massage.
Bluetooth speakers work very easy and best for music. We currently use an arm extension found on Amazon to hold the Kindle up and our phones for video, that way we can keep our arms in the air bags. I don’t think the $5k chairs are any different than this one, I would recommend this.

(Updated Review) Great value full body massage chair -- but with complications and limitations

    UPDATE (August, 2023):

I've had this massage chair for a little over a year, so I figure it's time for an updated review. While I still believe this is not the absolute best massage chair out there (the really good ones still cost $5000+), it was an absolutely wonderful value for the $1799 I paid. Now that this chair is discounted well below that, I am able to recommend it even more.

I cannot imagine life without this massage chair! While not perfect — and it was a pain to setup — this may be one of my very best purchases from Amazon. It has so enriched our lives. Working from home, I love having this chair nearby to calm me when I'm stressed. It's also been great for managing my wife's SI pain. Our house guests also love it — makes them feel like they are in a spa.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW (May, 2022):

This is one of the most expensive items I have ever purchased on Amazon, and probably the most difficult to review. It's a great chair, and costs thousands less than similar models. But there are some limitations in what it will do, and final assembly is only simple if you know what you are doing (the instructions don't help much at all). I also found that the user guide doesn't give enough detail on operation. With this massage chair you really have to figure out a lot on your own.

    PROS:
    * Costs less than half the price of other premium massage chairs. (And of course with Amazon Prime delivery is free.)
    * This chair does a good job of massaging: feet, buttocks, hips / lower back, and upper back / shoulders.
    * The alternating pressure on your forearms is surprisingly soothing.
    * Looks good, stylish
    * Good remote control (once you figure out how to use it) that fits conveniently in a side pocket.
    * The sides of the machine light up when in use. It has more than once prevented me from tripping in the dark.

    MEH:
    * Your first challenge is getting this monster in the front door. Amazon will deliver it to your doorstep, that's it. Even with the foot/leg massager not attached, the chair very heavy and bulky. You will need two strong people to get this up the stairs, and they will want (and deserve) money and/or food.
    * The only assembly you need to perform is to attach the leg/foot rest to the chair, and it's fairly simple — once you figure it out. The assembly instructions provided are TERRIBLE, if not outright inaccurate. You are on your own. Be careful not to drop the tiny screws into cushions while you struggle with this, as you may never see them again. I had to replace one of the screws from my toolbox.
    * The instructions for use are a bit better than for the assembly, but not by much. The user guide gives you a brief introduction to what the buttons do, and to each massage mode, but you will have to figure out on your own what works best. I've been massaged too hard, too soft, and not in the right place, which I figured out what to do. After about a week I'm mostly sure that massage mode F4 with low intensity works best for me, but I'm still tweaking the neck/shoulder roller position setting.
    * You almost need three hands to get things started, as once you kick off the massage the pillows that grab your forearms get right to work — and you have to be real fast to get your arms in the slots in time. I might have this issue less often once I get more adjusted to using the controls
    * And you really do need to learn the adjustments if you don't want this thing to hurt you. I love an intense foot massage, but I still need to turn down the intensity on this machine. And I still am learning how to have the rollers avoid grinding my hip bones.

OTHER FEATURES: The machine includes spare fuses, which is a nice touch. (Wish the manufacturer was just as considerate with their instructions.) There are also bluetooth speakers I've never bothered to pair.

OVERALL: I'm still glad I got this unholy beast of a chair, and I plan to keep it. I get a *mostly* good massage out of it, and it looks great in my office. In zero gravity mode I've even fallen asleep in it. But know that for $1799 you are NOT getting the $5000 deluxe massage chair you may see in a fancy store. While this chair is an excellent value and more than worth the money, it is by no means the best chair out there. I get about 90% enjoyment out of this purchase overall.

The chair is worth the money and has a good support by the seller

We had this chair for about 2 years now and it continues to work to our great satisfaction. The footrest module started making loud sounds, and the seller, Relaxchairs, replaced it despite it being an old model. This counts for something in the world where everything goes out of production, even dinner plates at IKEA.

    iRest SL Massage Recliner

My wife was looking for a Massage chair and I checked on Amazon and found this unit. It took a few days for it to be shipped but that is understandable considering it was ordered on the Thanksgiving Week. It arrived in great shape and have unboxed the unit and my wife and I have been using the massage recliner for a week, she uses it in the morning and evening and I use the unit in the evening. Let me tell you, folks this massage recliner really get the job done from your shoulders to your feet. It is very well belt and it does an amazing job, just be careful this massage recliner can bring comfort with a test, and that means watch yourself while using it because it really gets with it. I am a skinny guy and my old bones and muscles are very easy to locate , not a frame that is blessed with excess unburned fuel if you know what I mean. We do recommend this amazing massage recliner and are very pleased with the purchase especially when we consider the convenience to use it daily and for us to not have to make a trip to get an adjustment.

    Great value

I have had this chair for almost 4 years now and I’ve never had an issue with it. Everyone who tries it loves it. The chair gets almost daily use and occasionally several people per day when the adult kids are home it’ll be used several times per day.

So far so good . It does a good job for me !

    Amazing chair

My only complaint is there are no instructions or information on how to use the chair. I’m figuring it out. YouTube helped put it together.

    Hope you fit

The chair is comfortable and does a decent job. However, if you are over 6’ tall and eat more than salads, it is a very snug fit! I am 6’1” and not petite and just barely fit. But once you are in, it is a very enjoyable experience.

  11. Anonymous (verified owner)

    Excellent for the price.

For the price, it is a great chair. Other chairs for double the price feel the same to me. I have had it for 6 months now, without issues. Probably use it twice a week.

    Everything I wanted and more.

We absolutely love this chair and we spend hours in it. I carry all of my stress in my shoulders and we both work labor intensive jobs. Sitting in this helps us both feel refreshed in the morning. I was a little scared to purchase based off of some of the reviews but I’m so glad I went through with it. To address some of the negative things I’ve read.

Shipping: they called twice and left messages for me to get ahold of them before they dropped. I took to long to reply (my fault) and they walked the chair up two flights of steps to put it on my front porch.

Instructions: honestly it was so easy, we didn’t need them. It took us maybe 5 minutes to assemble. I do suggest two people do it and the air line was a little tough but I’d rather it be too tight and hard to assemble than it being too lose and fall off later.

Remote: yes a backlight would be nice but the display is big and has a lot of options for adjustments.

Massage: you can adjust your height or shoulder position in 5’6 and he is 6’ we are both able to adjust to a perfect fit. You can adjust intensity by how far back you are lying. It does give a really intense massage if beyond zero but I require my knots to be worked out. You can always add a small towel in spots where it hits too hard like my hip area. The head rest is padded, you can keep it on to soften massage or take it off for more pressure. Foot massage is really intense with the airbag pressure but I just turn everything to low intensity and adjust my foot placement as needed.

Leg adjustment. Honestly it doesn’t bother me that the spring is so tight that you have to push to keep the legs completely down. Without pushing, it kind of puts you in a really relaxed fetal position and it massages more of my calf.

Bluetooth is hard to connect: it wasn’t. It was incredibly easy, there really wasn’t anything to do. Chair has to be plugged in and Bluetooth on. Hit search and pair.

Massages your bootyhole: I don’t know, I mean it gets close but it’s for a very brief time and it’s not actually up in there.

The heat is incredible and I find myself having to turn it off for it getting too hot but I’d rather have that then not enough heat.

The sellers description is a little vague as well. It does spot massage which is what I really wanted. It has the automatic smart adjustment but you can manually adjust it too but only on manual massage which is fine.

    Great Chair

I cannot say enough good things about this chair. Everyone in the family loves it. Easy to assemble. Great price! One thing is the heat is only in one area and can get to hot. Other than that I have fallen asleep multiple times getting a massage in this chair.

    Wonderful

Great massage chair, especially for the price. We use it all the time. I had a big empty corner to place it in which you will need due to the way it tilts back. I’ve had it about five months and no problems. I do find it a little too intense on my lower back where bone is close to the surface but I just have placed a hand towel there and that works just fine.

I’ve had this for about two months. I love it! Honestly, the enrichment that I’m getting in my life from this product is hard to explain. I’ve only scratch the surface and understanding its capabilities, but it is terrific to have it at arms length anytime that I need it for five or 30 minutes. It’s comfortable, I consider it inexpensive, it looks good considering its very space age. Make sure , it looks good considering it’s very space age. Make sure you have space for it… my dog thinks it’s about the size of a cow.

An Honest Review Of 3rd Party Seller- mostly!!! Chair details - working on the final review

Something is wrong with heating element. Called Amazon. Won't replace- Will only pick it up and then refund the money. I just want a replacement..

This company that sells through Amazon- is SNOTTY!!!! Short and unpleasant. As I wasn't happy with Amazon's response- because I just wanted them to replace the product- I called relax chairs- this seller through Amazon- and she said it doesn't matter if it has a 3 year warranty on the product- that whatever Amazon told me to do is what has to be done..

WOW- okay- I'm going to keep at Amazon- because this is ridiculous- and this seller is NOT friendly.. Got sighs- and uh's and I'm gonna say this one last time- responses from that lady who answered..

IF you're going to buy this chair- buyer beware- don't buy it through this company as a 3rd party seller.. You'll get Nothing but Nastiness…

NOW- to try and figure out what's causing this heating issue- where it gets so hot it burns you on one side… Sometimes it does- sometimes it doesn't…

Other than that- please note- I'm sure this "could" be resolved and fixed- and I'm working on this.. I'll try to get back and update- as the chair itself- and massage features are fantastic.. Really- this issue should NOT be so difficult to fix!!

And on a side note- all other features are Amazing.. But due to the rest of this going on- only 4 stars.. I will try to get an update when this is resolved!!!!

    ** Updated Review **

Many of you may have read my negative review regarding this product. It was not against the product itself but their warranty department. They reached out to me directly and apologized for the customer service reps behavior. They then fulfilled my warranty request no questions asked. They made it extremely easy, and I now have a 100% working chair that is AWESOME. I love my IRest, and use it every day. Thank you to MassageChairs for addressing my concern and issues. They made me a believer again in how customer service should be done. I can now safely recommend this chair to anyone looking for an amazing message chair.

Noisy, Painful, and a Nightmare to Return

I really wanted to love this massage chair, but unfortunately, it’s been nothing but a frustrating experience from start to finish. The chair is extremely noisy during use—so much so that it completely ruins any chance of relaxation. The massage itself is also way too harsh, even at the lowest settings. It’s either painfully intense or so weak that you can’t feel anything at all. There’s no comfortable middle ground.

On top of that, the delivery process was a disaster. It was rescheduled three times, and we had to stay home on three separate days waiting for them to finally show up. That alone should have been a red flag.

But the worst part? Trying to return it. It’s been an absolute nightmare. We initiated a return, and the pickup crew came only to tell us they couldn’t take it because it wasn’t disassembled and repackaged—which is nearly impossible to do without professional help. Keep in mind, this is a huge, heavy piece of equipment, and they won’t even step inside to assist with removal. You’re expected to dismantle and haul it to your front gate yourself.

Unless you are 100% sure this chair is exactly what you want, I strongly advise against buying it. The hassle is simply not worth

    Game Changer for Relaxation!

I bought this iRest massage chair in December 2024 and honestly, it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made for my health and comfort. From the moment it was set up, I could feel the difference in quality. The zero gravity feature is incredible it really takes pressure off your spine and gives a weightless feel that helps you fully relax.

The chair covers everything back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, and feet. The foot rollers and airbags feel like a professional massage. The Bluetooth speaker is a great bonus, and I love playing calming music while unwinding in the evenings. It also heats up just the right amount during winter, which makes it even more soothing.

It looks premium and fits well in my living room. Definitely a must have if you deal with long workdays, muscle tightness, or just want to treat yourself. I use it almost daily and it’s helped reduce my back stiffness and improve sleep. Highly recommend!

    A Near-Perfect Massage Experience! 💆‍♀️

Wow! This massage chair is an incredible upgrade from anything I've ever experienced, even those "deluxe" chairs at the mall—it truly puts them all to shame. The sheer variety of pressure and techniques is astounding; you can really customize your massage to exactly what your body needs. It's truly a luxurious and effective way to unwind and work out kinks.
That said, there are a few areas where I feel this otherwise fantastic chair could be improved:
    * Remote Issues: The remote control lacks a backlight, which makes adjustments in a dimly lit room quite challenging. Additionally, it's wired, and that cable constantly seems to get in the way, detracting slightly from the overall sleekness and user experience.
    * Massage Duration Limit: Each massage session is limited to 30 minutes. While often sufficient, there are times I'd love to just "set it and forget it" for a full hour of uninterrupted relaxation.
    * Persistent Beeping: The chair emits a beeping sound every time it adjusts its position. An option to turn this off would be a welcome addition for a more serene experience.
While these minor inconveniences prevent a full five-star rating, please know this is a solid 4.5-star, almost 4.75-star product in my book. The benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, and it's easily the best massage chair I've ever had the pleasure of using. If the manufacturer addresses these small points, it would be absolutely perfect!

Delivery was awesome. It can be moved by one person once it is uncrated. Works fine.

Works great but has its limitations

I’ve been a member of massage envy for over 10 years going 1-2x/month. Given that data, a massage chair is a more than reasonable investment and will save me quite a bit of money over time. Main limitations: no hamstring, quad, pec, hip, calf (only air), or shoulder (only air) massage is possible with this (and most) massage chairs. For that reason alone, I will still have to supplement with a real massage somewhat regularly. The neck massage leaves more to be desired and can be tricky to position exactly where you want it. I am only 5’7 and it’s is difficult to get it as high as I’d prefer. The foot rollers can only be tolerated for so long, in my experience. It doesn’t appear that you can adjust the foot roller intensity in any way, but it is a nice feature. The air bags are a nice squeeze, but that doesn’t count as a massage in my book. The stretch setting is definitely not as advertised or as good as you’d hope for it to be. Overall it seems to work well and is great to use whenever we feel the need for massage or relaxation. The speakers and heated section are an added bonus and increase relaxation. I feel like this is a decent price point but it is important to understand the limitations and properly manage expectations before making a massage chair purchase.

We didn't need all those fancy options, and this massage chair was just perfect for our needs. Still massages great like those much more expensive options. Had to install the foot massager but it wasn't too bad. It took 20 minutes for one person. Recommended.

Very nice chair, and amazing value!

I researched many massage chairs before finally deciding on this one. This chair has many different functions. It has a full body massage including compression components on the forearms and calves. It also has an amazing heat component that really helps heat and loosen the muscles.

The chair works well for the whole family. It has a smart function that detects your shoulder position before each session to determine the best position for the massage elements. It also has many different preset massage styles from Relaxing to Sleep inducing.

This was the best chair I could find for the value. My wife and I are used to getting professional massages weekly, but we are able to replace those with convenient at home massages with this chair. We’ve owned the chair for about three months and have easily used it for over 150 hours. It’s already paid for itself with the time and money we’ve saved!

    * Looks good, stylish

    Great Value

So far so good. Works as advertised. We are tall people and everyone over 6’ so if I was to have a wish list it would be for longer foot extensions but other than that we love this chair. This is our second one and we prefer it over our previous chair. Hands-down, the most bang for your buck.

    Not to bad

Chair is pretty good, everything went really smooth with delivery and I was shocked. They actually delivery on Mother's day..the delivery guys were great.
And I made sure to tell them that and bought them lunch out of my appreciation. Now for the chair; It really looks nice in my living room. Hopefully you read this review before you start.
Make sure after you plug it in that you recline the chair all the way back so you'll have an easier setup than my experience.
Makes assembling the leg attachment a hell of a lot easier on your own.
Chair comfort is excellent, remember that you can always adjust your sitting position if theirs something that doesn't feel so good and add a cushion around the lower back because this baby heats up very well.
I did call their customer service which was not that hard but couldn't answer simple questions, I know where this company is located and I'm sure the language barriers was a issue BUT ,if you sell merchandise in the US. Have someone who speaks and understands ENGLISH…
They actually lost out of a higher price chair that I was looking at, and maybe someone can answer this for me? I really liked a chair of irest that had the bracket and remote control fixed to the arm rest
I know by having a family that would be the first thing to get broken of the chair.. my question is; can I still use this without the bracket fixed to the chair… other then that the neon blue lights on the sides do not work anymore which isn't a big deal to me but what could be a deal break for you might be the remote. I can see it great during the day but at night it's a pain in the ass because it doesn't illuminate. Other then that it has a learning curve just like anything. I would definitely recommend this chair for the money, I never thought I could get one of these chairs you see at the nail saloon or the mall.the blue tooth speakers actually sound decent. I would love to see a chair with wi fi control that way you wouldn't have to worry about the remote and the wire and no illustrations. I know their probably out their but I read another of reviews and the consensus is that the AI sucks.so what is that saying for the wi fi capabilities.

2 years later review: Still very impressed and the chair is holding up well. I tend to use it 10 to 15 times a week, more some weeks and no issues. It took me some time to understand all the functions and now to get the Goldilocks settings I wanted. The sleep mode works really well. Pretty sure it paid for itself in massage fees and having it on demand is a big plus.

Updated: Loverd it but the AirPump does not work after 3 years.

Update: The company reached out to me, they discovered the chair was out of warranty but helped trouble shoot. For a very reasonable price they sent me two parts with instructions to replace them and fix the chair. This has worked and the chair is running great again. They even followed up a few times after they sent the part to make sure everything was ok. Very good customer service.

I have had this chair for 3 years. I was very happy with it until the last couple of months. Now the air pressure works for 10 minutes and then it stops, it tries to inflate but simply can't we have checked all the hoses etc, reset the chair and still the air compression stops working after 10 minutes. I emailed the seller and have been trying to get help since Oct 30 2024 and have yet to receive any actual support they asked for the order number, what was wrong and promised I would be contacted in 24 hours. The chair is great as long as you never need any support for it. Otherwise it is way too expensive for something that lasts 3 years. You may want to consider getting one from your local mall where there are actual people you can go speak to when things go wrong.

    Worth the wait!

I delayed purchasing this chair for nearly a year. The idea of buying a $2k chair that didn't "deliver" made me nervous. I read lots of reviews about this chair. Most were positive. I went to retail stores to test all kinds of chairs, most of which were more expensive (and in hindsight, didn't deliver a noticeable difference). Finally I pulled the trigger. SO happy I did! The chair "delivers"! It's not perfect, but it's darn close. I'd actually give it 4.5 stars, BUT I don't mind rounding up. You can read the other reviews to see the pros and cons. Most of them are pretty accurate. In summary, the pros: the chair works well and looks good. The cons (for me): I am 6'3". Seems the chair is made for slightly shorter people because my legs can't fully extend. I knew this going in. It made me nervous. But, it has turned out to be a small deal. The chair gives a firm massage … and the foot rollers can be intense (though you can turn them off) … and the instructions are "meh". But none of these is a big deal (for me). Again, the massage is great and the chair looks really good in my space. I use the chair 3-4 times/week and everytime I do, I am glad I did. Bottom line, pull the trigger. It is a good purchase!

Delivery was awesome. Still impressed after two years.

Very pleased with it so far and was worth it on sale.

    Long lasting massage chair

The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried massage chairs that are 10x the price of this chair and the iRest zero gravity massage chair is on par with those. There are tons of massage features including back, feet, calves, and arms.

Assembling the chair only required me to attach the leg/foot part, which was super easy. The chair is also super easy to clean.

The main issues with the chair are that the beeping is loud and the buttons on the controller are pretty confusing. Once you get the hang of the controller this chair is perfect.
